Coprights... A Brief Rant from a Disgruntled Guy

Copyrights. We all live in a world full of 'em. As a musician and somethetimes creative guy, I can appreciate that they are in place to make sure other people don't make fortunes off of my hard work.

However, there are times when I really don't like copyright laws. Namely... times like right now. Like. I love songs. I love songs that other people have written. I like rearranging them.

Copyright laws forbid me from composing an acoustic rearrangement of a song and posting it on YouTube. Yeah. Tons of people do it... but it's a copyright infringement unless if I have clear permission from the copyright holder.

Yeah. Like it's gonna be easy to get the copyright holder's approval to do an acoustic cover on YouTube. No money for them by sharing, no money for me to entice them to share.

Usually, I like and support copyright laws. It's just when I can't do things like this that they bug me. Bah.

No acoustic cover for you tonight. Alas.
